Things that make life better (part 2)

Welcome + welcome back! Here is week 2 of “things that make life better”. I will be sharing weekly tips and insight about improvements I make in my health, career, appearance, relationships, personal development, finances, & self care (follow along to see the journey)!

Things that make life better

Moving my body

I want to say that I’ve made progress in my health & fitness goals by 30! My current workout routine is: strength training 2x a week, walking daily (goal is 10K steps & honestly I didn’t hit regularly this past year in nyc, but making it a goal for this year)! I want to add in home workouts (Pilates, HIIT) 2x a week. @nysc has been my gym in NYC for the past 8 months & I’m happy with the facilities! If you’re interested in learning more about NYSC, check out this link. Also, looking cute at the gym IS a motivator for me!! I’ve been recently wearing my @gymshark sets & my @apl shoes! See here my favorite workout sets & gym shoes.

At-home workouts are helping me stay consistent with working out. I did a 30 min YouTube Pilates class with @movewithnicole! I like to add ankle weights for added burn. Mine are from @maisonathle & are 1 pound weights! Here is an affordable ankle weights dupe.

I’m aiming for 10K steps a day. Today, I walked for 1 hour around the city. Overtime I plan to increase the amount of time for my walk, and walk in sections of the day (morning and early evening). It helps me relax when I get outside & listen to a podcast while I walk.

My appearance

I like to do monthly self-maintenance days, but today I focused on just my brows (I was encouraged to come in once a month for a trim). I’ve been getting them threaded since I was 20 & I absolutely prefer it over waxing. As for my skincare, I’ve been going through an unfortunate journey with acne flare ups. I chalk it up to my past week of travel. Now that I’m back in my routine, I’m prioritizing skincare. My skincare holy grail items are @theordinary vitamin c serum (here), @tower28beauty SOS spray (here), @supergoop unseen sunscreen (here), & I religiously apply @summerfridays lip balm (here)!! See here for all the items!

Ice rolling has improved my face complexion! I’ve done it for 2 years now, and try to do it every morning. Here’s the ice roller I use.

I’m a firm believer of progress photos/videos. It is powerful to see where you started & where you end up! Don’t be shy— take those photos!! Wearing my @skims swimsuit. See here for swimsuit.

To anyone who knows me personally, & those who have watched my YouTube videos since 2021, you know my love for @traderjoes runs DEEP. Would sell my soul to this place. I typically spend around $120 for 2 weeks worth of groceries. I focus on buying a mix of whole foods & some snacks. I actually enjoy cooking so I stick to buying mostly foods I can prepare myself 4. Advancing my career. If you’re new here (hi!) & a quick TLDR: I work for myself doing full-time content creation, freelance media marketing, & run an online social media management business. For the remainder of the day I am at my computer, doing a mix of editing (long & short form content), planning my week (calls with clients/ brainstorming new ideas) in my @papier planner, & checking emails Save this for later & follow @nk.medani to see day 3! #journeyto30 #dailyvlogs #personaldevelopment #motivationdaily #productivitytips #inmy20sdiaries #goalsettingtips #personaldevelopmentjourney #glowuptips #2024goals

I made a promise to myself that I am going to put effort into my daily outfits, even if I’m staying at home all day. Look good, feel good! Wearing my @beginningboutique sweater dress. Along with that, wearing perfume daily is a VIBE. I’m huge on aromatherapy, and it makes me feel elevated even on my most mundane days. Wearing @viktorandrolf_fragrances flower bomb (smells divine)! Here is the perfume.

I recently started taking apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning (before eating anything). This helps regulate your blood sugar levels & metabolism.

Overall, I love cooking, but I am not a chef! I stick to simple meals that are easy to prep/make. My go-to lunch is a chicken salad & I get everything from @traderjoes.

Work smarter, not harder. I’ve learned that being intentional about how you’re working makes the biggest difference in my overall wellbeing. I’m learning when to take breaks (5 min break every hour), get a snack, walk around. Do what you need to do for you!
